I had hit my absolute breaking point..

All my life I had a huge battle with my hair. My mom didn't really know how to handle it and getting my hair combed out was a terribly painful experience. Not to mention, I didn't grow up in a time when natural curls were embraced.

​

I spent majority of my childhood straightening my hair which was a 4-6 hour experience every time not to mention it was still frizzy. Even with relaxers and keratin treatments, it was a hot mess. All the way to my mid twenties.

​

I started wearing my hair natural but my curl pattern was completely non existent from the heat and chemical damage and box dyes. My hair had become weak, brittle and unmanageable.  I would spend over an hour in the shower using 1/4 of a bottle of watered down conditioner trying to comb my hair out, then hours after getting out just trying to get it to be presentable.

I would get so frustrated that I would be in tears and just would have to put it in a bun anyways - which didn't even look good either. I was so insecure and I was ready to either shave my hair or get dreads.

​

Around that time, I remembered that a few months prior, a friend had offered me a business opportunity with a company that sold non toxic products that I had turned down.  I didn't want anything to take away from my coaching business at the time and I saw absolutely no ethnic girls using these products. I figured there was no way they would work for me - but at that point I was desperate.

 

I thought about it all night and texted her in the morning saying I didn't care the cost, I just needed products that would help me.

​

I had no intention on joining the business, but it was a better deal to invest in a business product pack that had all the products I wanted at a huge discount. So I got my products, and a business opportunity.

​

My girl offered to put me in the group chats anyways and invited me to a call that night just to check it out.  Who would have known that one call would quite literally change the trajectory of my entire life.

​

I loved the community, I loved the mentorship and most importantly, I loved what this company represented and how much they give back to their people and to the community. I felt like I was home, and exactly where I needed to be.

My first month, I ranked up four times, grew an amazing team and hit a leadership rank. I've earned a free trip to the Dominican Republic and I'm a nose hair away from earning my Cadillac.
